The Unedited Shiraz was originally launched in 2011 (with the 2009 vintage) part of the regional initiative “McLaren Vale Scarce Earth” programme. It involved the release of selected single block McLaren Vale Shiraz wines which highlight the distinctive sites of the region. The Scarce Earth programme was discontinued after the 2015 vintage, yet Shingleback have maintained this very limited release using minimal oak.
They’ve released the 2017 but if you’re part of their “The Pick” back vintage cellar club, you may find this vintage in your pack. This vintage bottled under cork.
Shingleback, Unedited, Shiraz, McLaren Vale, 2014
Maintaining a deep garnet. Still offering plenty to enjoy: Choc nuts +raisins, clove spice, rose petals, deep raspberry, black plum and just a hint of meaty development. Medium bodied and silky smooth with perfectly integrated tannins. Dark spices and dark fruits still running deep with a graphite minerally finish. Delicious now.
