David LeMire and Adam Wadewitz appointed as joint CEOs of Shaw + Smith
The renowned Adelaide Hills producer Shaw + Smith, founded by Martin Shaw and Michael Hill Smith MW in 1989, have appointed winemaker Adam Wadewitz and Sales and Marketing pecialist David LeMire MW as joint CEOs.
David came on board in 2010 while Adam crossed the border from Victoria in early 2013. Both are highly respected wine professionals and well regarded by all in the industry for their dedication to excellence and their approachability.
Founders Martin Shaw and Michael Hill Smith MW are not retiring and will remain actively involved in the business: Martin Shaw will become Executive Chair of Shaw + Smith, while Hill Smith Executive Chair of sister company, the exemplary Tolpuddle Vineyard in Tasmania’s Coal River Valley.
Martin Shaw said: “Not only have David and Adam excelled in their specific areas of sales and marketing and winemaking, they are natural leaders with an excellent feel for business.” Michael Hill Smith MW added: “Most importantly both Adam and David are fully committed to the growing, making and selling of fine wine.”
The changes come into effect on 1 July 2020 and includes overseeing the Tolpuddle Vineyard.
