Made by the team at Purple Hands Wines, this is sourced from a single vineyard that sits at the southern end of the Barossa.
After Five Wine Co., Montepulciano, Barossa Valley, 2018
Deeply perfumed: black/purple fruits (cherry, blackberry), warm metallic/ferrous edge, sweaty woody spices with a meaty/doughy depth. High toned acidity gives a squeal over all-pervasive velvet tannin that goes on and on. Well balanced and consistent from start to finish, though for the moment the fruit is shrouded but the synchronisation will fall into place in the next couple of years. Of course, with that acid and tannin, this will just love a pairing of anything meaty/earthy and rich.
