According to the Kilikanoon website, this is sold out, but I’m sure if you’re hunting on bottleshop shelves or perusing lists, you may still see it.
Kilikanoon, Second Fiddle, Rosé, Grenache, Clare Valley, 2020
A medium cerise colour. Meaty, savoury with a big whack of TDN (1,1,6-trimethyl-1,2-dihydronaphthalene ….the petrol/kero note more commonly seen in aged Rieslings, however when seen in younger wines, it’s usually attributed to sunburnt grapes). There’s some rosewater and light raspberry but it’s not quite doing enough to offset the TDN (for me). The palate also dry and lacking fruit freshness with biting acidity to close.
RRP: $25
Alc: 13%
Rating: 14.75/20 (83/100)
