Quiet Mutiny, Venus Rising, Syrah, Tasmania, 2019
Not for the faint hearted. Garrigue herbs and big punches of white pepper. Venus is a spicy little number that’s for sure. Light chocolate ganache over dark berry fruit with a hint of char and earthiness. Medium weight, yet supple with the spice a definitive, maybe even divisive, prime characteristic. While herbaceous, it isn’t green or mean and there’s still ripe tannins providing a decent spine.
