Gerald Naef’s Patina Wines sits on the outskirts of the high elevation town of Orange in Central West of New South Wales. The elevation and long ripening hours provide excellent conditions for growing regional hero Chardonnay.
Patina, Reserve, Chardonnay, Orange, 2018
Cool (cold?) climate spectrum Chardonnay aromas with stone fruit, green melon, grape fruit pith, stony quartz, lemon curd, citrus leaf, vanilla sheen with some nutty almond meal. Exacting and richly layered. Depth and a little chew from the oak maturation with a creamy wrapper around a fine, long spine of intense regional acidity giving wonderfully elegant lines.
