The Dandelion Vineyards wines, with their evocative names are the creations of Elena Brooks (winemaker) and Zar Brooks (work experience and typist). Fruit from the Borchard’s vineyard on Teakle’s Hill, Woodside in the picturesque Hills.
Dandelion Vineyards, Wishing Clock of the Adelaide Hills, Sauvignon Blanc , Adelaide Hills, 2021
Pale to clear lemon. Leaning well into the austere side of the SB spectrum: Fresh cut green capsicum, green melon rind, box hedge, spearmint leaf, white blossom, talc and hints of passionfruit husk. Tight and lean. Intense acidity, driving and racing. The wine seems in a hurry: nervy and pent up. There’s good fruit falling into the green side of the range, with an ashen earthy “Sauvignon” finish. Sure to cut through Prosciutto and goat’s cheese tarts.
