Cat Amongst The Pigeons Fat Cat Shiraz 2015 – Cellar Release

The cellar release of the flagship of the CATP range. I reviewed this wine almost four years ago to the day. Winemaker is Nick Badrice for this Woolworths/Endeavour Drinks exclusive label. Limited quantities available only at selected Dan Murphy’s stores.

Cat Amongst The Pigeons, Fat Cat, Shiraz, Barossa, 2015

Showing a touch of age with a little deepening of the rim. Still a hefty Barossa shiraz with mocha, blood plum, blackberry, baking spices, vanilla bean paste, roast walnut, a little crushed ant and strap licorice. Dense and concentrated. Heavy on the dark berry fruit push with tacky, ripe tannins. Finishes like a magician disappearing in a smoky cloud: a purple swirl of a velvet cape and you’re left with a sense of skeptical wonder. Fans of the style will enjoy. Drink now.

RRP: $32.99
Alc: 14.5%
Rating: 17.25/20 (88/100)
