Retaining the same blending as previous years: Chardonnay (54%) and Pinot Noir (46%), Coming under the greater Hill Smith family vineyard umbrella, the winemaker is now Jennifer Doyle (long time Jansz vine whisperer) who has taken over from Teresa Heuzenroeder.
Jansz Tasmania, Vintage Cuvée, Pipers River, 2017
Pale gold, exquisitely fine beading. Complex and layered. Brioche yeasty sweetness with creamy milk coffee and roasted cashew, briny sea spray, fragrant strawberry red fruit and the richness of lemon curd citrus. Depth and presence. The mousse calm and even. Earthy truffle and peach interplay through a palate that draws very fine, tight and long. Persistent and intense finish. All class.
