First vintage post Peter Althaus. This continues to be one of the most revered Sauvignon Blancs in Australia. Bordeaux styling with Tasmanian fingerprints. Bottled under cork, but in the right conditions will easily last for 15 years or more.
Domaine A, Lady A, Sauvignon Blanc, Coal Valley, 2019
Pale yellow. Cashew cream over asparagus: both sweet young spears and slightly warmed. Tropical melon fruit mélange sorbet with malty vanilla biscuity lees and barrel influence. Some green apple, passion fruit, briny sea spray and fresh dewy grass.
Just medium bodied with soft grippy phenolic texture. Barley sugar nuance over smoky barrel work. Bittersweet limey citrus fruit with straight driving acidity. Does nothing to dent the reputation of the label.
