Crittenden are celebrating 40 years of winemaking this year. A pioneer of the Mornington Peninsula and of Italian varieties, with Garry Crittenden helped introduce barbera, nebbiolo, dolcetto and sangiovese to Victoria and Australia. The Chardonnay has minimal oak and malolactic influence to focus on the fruit. Winemaker is next generation Rollo Crittenden.
Crittenden, Peninsula, Chardonnay, Mornington Peninsula, 2021
Pale lemon gold hue. Dry, savoury expression with nectarine stone fruit richness, cinnamon spice and vanilla opulence. Limey edge leading to grapefruit citrus with stony, earthy base. Spice carries through the textural and toothsome palate. Fine drive and focus with a rich vein of acidity to keep things sharp.
