A lot more winemaking here than most Pinot Gris. Hand harvested, whole bunch pressed and wild yeast fermentation. Maturation for 10 months on lees. Winemaker is Rollo Crittenden.
Crittenden, Peninsula, Pinot Gris, Mornington Peninsula, 2021
A touch of copper y straw through the colour. Hyper fragrant nose: Brown pear, honeycomb, malt flakes, rosewater, candle wax and lemon granita freshness. A little width and depth, giving body and chew while remaining keenly balanced with excellent length, saliva inducing acidity and fruit intensity. A fine example of the variety.
