One of the most anticipated releases I get to see. This vintage sees 40% whole bunch. Winemaking is led by uber Adam Wadewitz, suitably supervised by founder Martin Shaw (along with the ultimate rock star team.)
Shaw and Smith, Shiraz, Adelaide Hills, 2020
Almost a Fruits Of The Forest front to the nose: Cherry, boysenberry, blackberry with meaty depth, green peppercorn, brown woody spice all wrapped in cedary, easy creamy oak notes. Fruit focused and bright with exquisite fine tannin holding the palate firmly and sharply in line. Darkly spiced with a touch of streamlined hedonism, the class is evident.
