From the team at Fourth Wave Wine who launched their Plus & Minus Zero Alcohol range a little over 12 months ago. The wines are “hand-made without the use of any artificial sweeteners, but the “addition of grape skin extract (GSE) during the winemaking process” tries rebuilding the body and palate once the wine has had the alcohol removed. This 100% Pinot Noir blanc de noirs comes from the Adelaide Hills. Attractively packaged. Under cork. Winemaker is Corey Ryan.
Plus & Minus, Zero Alcohol, Blanc de noirs Cuvée, Pinot Noir, Adealide Hills, 2021
Slight onion skin blush with plentiful fine beading. Pungent yeasty leesy aromas over sweaty peach, ripe strawberry and fine silty earth. Blousy mousse evaporates to expose a lean structure. Easy Strawberry Danish flavour through the palate. Dry finish. I’ve been impressed with some of the range, and while sound, this lacks a little richness I’d prefer in a BdN.
