Ross Hill Pinnacle Series Chardonnay 2019

Ross Hill started in 1994, when Peter and Terri Robson purchased a property on Griffin Road in Orange, NSW, this flagship Chardonnay from their Home Block in the vineyard on that road (where the majority of their fruit is grown), sitting at 750 to 810 metres above sea level. The winery is carbon neutral and NCOS Certified. Winemaker Luke Steele joined Ross Hill in 2019 and the wines have never been better. This label picking up bling at the 2022 London International Wine Competition.

Ross Hill, Pinnacle Series, Chardonnay, Orange, 2019

RHPSChardonnay

Wild yeast. French oak. Lemon and grapefruit flesh with flaky pastry oak, easy green melon flesh, green pomme fruit skin and roast cashew cream. Persistence from start to finish. Not a chink in its armour. Fleshy complexity ably supported by judicial use of oak to compliment not clobber. Savoury profile with understated acidity providing compelling length. An elegant release.

  1. Thanks for the honest and great write up! We will send some of the new bottlings that we are doing this month once they’ve settled into their new home
