Celebrating 175 years of Pewsey Vale as the original vineyard was planted in 1847, this release of the 1961 Block is the oldest (modern) part of the vineyard. Fruit is handpicked then wild fermented and briefly aged on lees. Winemaker is Louisa Rose.
Pewsey Vale, 1961 Block, Riesling, Eden Valley, 2021
Richness on the nose is apparent from the lees work, offering a just-creamy, nutty, biscuity influence over tea tree blossom, citrus pith, pear skin and dusty chalk. A savoury and firm style, winemaking offering textural depth to the impeccable old vine fruit. The acidity pulses and gives lasting energy.
