Quartz Hill are located near the western Victorian township of Avoca in the Pyrenees region. This Syrah made by Darrin Gaffy (of Principia Wines and Gaffy & Neal). Wild fermentation, French oak (25% new) for 12 months. Available for purchase via the Quartz Hill website.

Bright garnet with purple rim (akin to the label). Soft oak, plum sauce and red raspberry flesh, peppery spice, roast beetroot, incense and chocolate ganache. Medium to full bodied. Elegant, lean and spiced with the pepper to the fore, hyper fine mesh tannin and a delicious juicy finish.
