Chateau Tanunda, Grand Barossa, Shiraz, Barossa, 2021
Deep garnet with a bright rim. Savoury and dark expression: dark fruits and chary earth with meaty, peppery spice. It smells like Peppered Beef potato chips/crisps. Dehydrated spices and near violet blossom over licks of licorice. Slick front palate with plenty of those dark berries well supported by firm, fine tannin and a clean shot of bright acidity to close and freshen up. Lingering dark, yeasty, umami goodness for a well constructed regional varietal mélange.
