Howard Park Arbor Novae Syrah 2024

The name Arbor Novae means “new trees” in Latin, and expresses Howard Park’s ongoing connection
with the trees that support the ecosystem of their own vineyards and then extend out into the majestic
Eucalypt forests of South West Western Australia with $1.50 from each bottle sold going to Carbon Positive’s tree planting and landscape restoration.
In a continuation of Howard Park’s support of WA artists, the Arbor Novae labels display original paintings by Fremantle artist Andy Quilty.

Wild fermentation (some whole bunches for spice and lift). 10 days on skins then pressed to large-format French oak for several months maturation.

Howard Park, Arbor Novae, Syrah, Margaret River, 2024

Deep garnet with an ermine edge. Woody spices: cloves and cinnamon over fleshy plum, blackcurrant. hints oif mint and bay and white pepper. Just enough flesh to be full bodied, with a crescendo of spice and elegant, yet almost chewy tannins. Medium length of flavour, but neatly focused with a little acid lift to balance the savoury veins.

RRP: $35
Alc: 14%
Rating: 91/100
