Howard Park, Flint Rock, Shiraz, Great Southern, 2024
There’s nothing overtly complicated here: Elegant and approachable, with quality dark fruit wrapped in spiced layers. Green peppercorns and white pepper spice, clove studs over savoury umami/beef stock, dark chocolate, potpourri, dried fig with plenty of fleshy berry compote. Medium framed and silky structure make for immediate attraction. A little rasp of tannins while the finish has a little regional choc-mint and freshness in the tail. Plenty to just enjoy here and now.
