Part of Howard Park’s Distinguished Sites range. Winemaking remains the same as previous vintages with parcels fermented in open vats and closed stainless steel before 18 months maturation in French oak (around 25% new) barriques, hogheads and puncheons. Note, bottle image is of 2018, but nought else has changed.
Howard Park, Leston, Shiraz, Margaret River, 2024

Deep garnet hue. Attractive chocolate, dark berry and cherry fruit. Hints of bay, licorice to anise and roasting pan juices. Oak gives a sweet edge without overpowering. Generous yet elegant. Ripe and dark up front with ropey, chewy drying tannins giving medium framing through the tail. Echoes of char and dark spice to close.
