Brash Higgins MCC 2018

Brash’s MCC blend for this vintage is 65% Mataro, 20% Cinsault and 15% Carignan. Sourced from the Lennon vineyard very close to the Brash Higgins winery. All fruit hand picked and co-fermented and matured in old French oak.

Brash Higgins, MCC, Mataro, Cinsault, Carignan, McLaren Vale, 2018

Dark garnet with a slightly turbid manner. Aromas of bitumen, pineapple lump chocolate, damp earth, roses and cherries with spent tea leaves, fresh mushroom and a touch of animal rusticity. Peppery, clove spice palate full of tight red cherry flavour with drying, papery tannins over the savoury rusticity (which threatens to derail, but is kept on its leash). Bright flourish to the finish with surprising acidity. Demands food.

RRP: $30
