Taken from established plantings in Wrattonbully, (just north of Coonawarra and also on ancient soils), the Smith and Hooper wines are produced from the family owned Yalumba stable. Winemaker is Nat Cleghorn.

Smith & Hooper, Merlot, Wrattonbully, 2018

Raspberry, plum and mulberry fruit with a touch of earthier boot polish, campfire ash and emboldened with chocolate ganache. Presents neatly in a medium-bodied frame, with plenty of cedary and woody spice and a fine spread of drying tannins. Great match for a cottage pie.
