Part of Champagne House G.H. Mumm’s “Terroir Collection.” Made by Jamie Marfell who has been making sparkling wines in the region for nearly 2 decades. No mention of the grape breakdown, simply that it was made from the “best parcels.”
Mumm Marlborough, Vintage Rosé, Marlborough, 2015
Rose gold/coppery salmon in hue. Energetic beading cycling from floor to surface. Rose petals, cherry, blood orange, cranberry with developing notes of honey and almost an anise/clovey spice note and bread crust. Tight mousse, good mid-palate drive and intensity. Still with plenty of fine acidity in the tail to provide freshness. Lingering cherry, blood orange and cranberry fruit contributing to this fine release.
