A shift in the blend from 2018 with Cabernet Sauvignon (50%) Shiraz (48%) and 2% Cabernet Franc. Fruit comes from the close spaced Crayères Vineyard (1.5m by 1.5m) on the 37 million year old Terra Rossa ridge in Wrattonbully. Note, bottle image is of the 2018 but there are no other changes apart from the vintage date.
Terre à Terre, Crayères Vineyard, Cabernet Sauvignon/Shiraz, Wrattonbully, 2019
Chocolate milk richness spiked with sweet nutmeg brown spice, cassis, easy mint leaf and bramble, plum jam (but not jammy), violet petal and Medium structure with a silky seamless front to middle palate. Turns the screws tightly with a clamp of fine velvety tannin. Simply floats along with precision. An investment in time.
Rating: 19/20 (95/100)
