A change in fruit from the 2019. This time the 20 year old Hayview Vineyard in Mount Barker is the source. 7 days fermentation on skins before 10 months in seasoned French oak barriques on lees, stainless steel tank maturation to settle prior to bottling.
Clandestine Vineyards, Shiraz, Mount Barker, 2020
Savoury, floral, fruity. Dark richness polish of balsamic glaze, roasting pan jus, maraschino cherry, raspberry, dark stones, shearing shed animalistic depth and mocha oak. Medium to full bodied. Dark berry fruit and savoury stoniness with some clove spice kick through the juicy finish. Feels utterly modern.
