Taking fruit from the Tasmania’s East Coast and Derwent Valley. There are still some stocks left of this floating about. If you’re able to find one, buy it.
Bay of Fires, Pinot Noir, Tasmania, 2018
Precise dark cherry fruit with crushed thyme, ground coffee, rose petals, handfuls of autumnal fallen undergrowth and with an attractive coolness/calmness that runs well through the spine. Layered and complex. A beguiling and harmonious presence from beginning to end. Hints of high burnished citrus with energy, vibrancy and dark edged smoke, impeccable tannins and a long tail that balances light and shade. Excellent.
