A sneak peek at the soon to be released 2019 follow up to the excellent 2018. Fruit for this vintage coming from the warmer, maritime influenced East Coast.
Bay of Fires, Pinot Noir, Tasmania, 2019
A little reduction to work through, initially. Some youthful oak cola/vanilla hints with fleshy cherry, almost ginger spice, just smoked meats, deep rose with a resiny stalkiness and briny hint. Fleshy palate, with a square start and middle that eventually dovetails into a fine, tight finish with a bright flourish. The tannins are a little chewy and loose knit, but will mesh well. Very good now and will be even better with a little more time in bottle.
