The Eddystone Point range is part of the Bay of Fires stable and is looked after in the winery by local lad Stewart Byrne. Taking fruit from across Tasmania, here they source from the Coal River and Derwent Valleys in Southern Tasmania.
Eddystone Point, Chardonnay, Tasmania, 2018
Light straw gold in the glass. Smart and pleasing notes of white stone fruit, lemon curd, lemon flesh, “Bickfords” lemon cordial with nut butter and creamy malo influence. Oak casts a light vanilla blonde shadow. Fresh and in WSET terms, “medium minus” in body. This is a crowd pleaser that offers a bit of everything: a little creamy richness through the mid palate while retention of fine Tassie acidity keeps things on the straight and narrow, finishing clean and balanced. Ticks a lot of boxes. Turn up to parties with this and make friends.
