This blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (68%), Shiraz (16%) and Cabernet Franc (16%) is sourced from the Bizot’s 35 million year old soil Crayères vineyard, located next to the lauded Tapanappa Whalebone vineyard. Bottled under cork (using 1 by 1 technology).
Terre à Terre, Crayères Vineyard, Reserve, Wrattonbully, 2016
Elegance and charm on the nose with varietal, dusty dark berries/cassis, hint of eucalyptus and leafy violets emphasised with generosity from plummy/cherry Shiraz while a sharp bittersweet iodine tang knocks once. The oak is obvious but stylistically harmonious. Powerfully built with a heart of pure dark, soft, rich fruit that is well crafted to persist and last long. The tannins are powdery and plentiful. Very very good now and no doubting its potential for longevity.
